Just thought I would do an update on my Mom today, I know it's been awhile. I still think back to being a new Mom with a newborn and thinking my Mom may possibly die. Halloween was just awful. I had never seen my Mom in such pain. I hope I don't have to again for a long time. I think we all have a little PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) about the illness now. We still don't know for sure whether it was a Vitamin D Deficiency (doctors will not say for sure) or Fibromyalgia. When my Mom calls I cringe wondering if today will be the day that she tells me she had a bad night and the mystery illness starts all over again. She has these anxious feelings as well. Last Monday we had a bad storm and the change in barometric pressure can trigger migraines. This unusual storm had my Mom in a full blown migraine. To top it off, she's had not just her chronic neck and back pain, but unbearable pain. We've all been on pins and needles wondering every day if this is the day it will take her over the edge in unexplained pain again. To help her back and neck she's been getting neurotomy's (the cutting of nerves to relieve the pain). I think she's had four so far. The first two helped but the 3rd and 4th were recently and within 2 weeks of each other. Sometimes it can have an adverse affect before it feels better. She's been feeling pretty miserable so hopefully the pain relief will kick in soon.
