You know what the worst is?! Being in the staff lounge at work! There is ALWAYS some sort of sweet, pastry, appetizer, dip, or bread to tempt me. Either it is someone's birthday or it's "Wednesday Breakfast" where a few people take turns bringing in casseroles, Panera Bagels, and doughnuts. Are you kidding me?! Do people really eat like this DAILY? If I did, I guarantee I would weigh over 200 pounds. I just don't understand how some people can do it and don't gain a pound...or those that are extremely heavy and keep on indulging on a daily basis. I guess I have been eating healthy for so long now that I can't even imagine putting those toxic things into my body. Since I rarely eat sugar (especially because I'm allergic to it and it makes me extremely sick!) when I do, it is literally like drugs coursing through my veins. I feel an extreme high and then the low occurs. The low is usually a stomachache or feeling sick to my stomach. Now I admit, it's not like I don't want to have a bite of doughnut, cake, or bagel but the low makes me feel so badly that I regret it anyway. I really think one of the largest temptations is the workplace! Needless to say, I try not to linger by the food table and pack my own lunches so that I don't end up grazing.
